about the farm.

a small market garden growing food and flowers with a focus on healthy soil and simple, regenerative practices.

We're starting our first season selling in Hay Bay, growing food and flowers with a focus on healthy soil and simple, regenerative practices.

We're so glad you're here. I'm Paul, and I share this journey with my wife Erica. I have a background in technology and have spent years studying regenerative agriculture, permaculture, and soil biology. Regenerative practices are rooted in understanding how soil and ecosystems function — and that knowledge is key to building healthier land and better food over time.

We don't use synthetic pesticides or inorganic inputs, focusing instead on building soil health to grow stronger, more resilient plants. Our approach goes beyond simply avoiding inputs — it's about improving the health of the soil and ecosystem over time.

Healthy soil leads to better flavour and nutrition — something that drives both how I grow and how I cook.

Through my work at SoilNerd.ca, I help farmers and growers better understand and improve their soil using biology-first, regenerative approaches.

This market garden is a work in progress — not just in what we grow, but in how we care for the land. Each season, we're slowly restoring and shaping this place, learning what thrives and building toward something more resilient over time.

We're learning, improving, and having some fun along the way.

The 2025 season brought its challenges, with prolonged drought and high heat. Like many others, we're doing our best to work with the variability of the season — and wishing everyone an easier season ahead.
